J'ai vu un peu les deux premiers matchs de SL, je suis vraiment pas fan, mais c'est le genre de joueur qui peut bien fonctionner avec D'antoni, à la James Jones...
Sinon, Tim Thomas pourrait revenir une 3eme fois...

Il y aura peut-être une justice cette année, le Jazz nous vole peut-être notre 1er tour, mais si Almond rééquilibrait "un peu" la balance.... l'histoire serait en tout cas sympa 
FORMER JAZZ PICK SWEET FOR KNICKS
Jordan Hill and Toney Douglas, the Knicks' 2009 first-round picks, showed flashes in their Summer League debuts last night -- but it was the Jazz' 2007 first-rounder, Morris Almond, who provided the most joy for the Knicks in their 90-86 loss to Memphis at UNLV.
Almond, a first-round pick, looks like a keeper. He led the team with 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting, including 3-of-6 from 3-point range, and demonstrated the sweet stroke that prompted Allan Houston comparisons when he came out of Rice.
The 6-foot-10 Hill rallied for a strong second half, scoring 11 of his 13 points and gathering eight boards in the Knicks' Summer League opener.
Facing No. 2 pick, 7-3 center Hasheem Thabeet, Hill shot just 6-of-14 and missed a post-up in the lane with five seconds left that could have tied it.
Douglas, the Florida State PG selected 29th, couldn't buy a bucket (2-of-13), getting blocked on two drives, but dished out 11 assists with zero turnovers, finishing with eight points.
"Both of them showed flashes of what they can do," Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni said of Hill and Douglas.
"It's [Hill's] ability to grow as a player. That's what he did in Arizona for three years, and we expect him to do it here. [We] don't expect him to be an out-of-the-chute gangbuster. He's not done as a player."
The 6-6 Almond outplayed the two rookies. The stingy Jazz did not pick up his $1.5M third-year option for financial reasons, and the Knicks signed him to the Summer League with visions of giving him a partially guaranteed contract for next season.
"What we're looking at is if he can do something else [besides shoot]," D'Antoni said. "We know he can score. I thought his instincts on defense were good."
Almond made his first three shots and had all 17 by the third quarter. He believes he'll be in Saratoga for training camp in October.
"Basketball is fun again," Almond said. "New York showed the most interest when I became a free agent, and we'll see what happens. This is who I want to play for."
While Almond was cranking it, Hill and Douglas were off.
Hill had two offensive putbacks that went for three-point plays, but his mid-range game was terrible. His shooting ability weighed heavily in the Knicks drafting him.
"He didn't make his outside shot," D'Antoni said of Hill. "I think he'll make that. He needs to make that. It's an area he really needs to work on -- his 15-foot jumper. He needs to really knock it down. After that, he has speed, quickness."
Douglas' decision-making and defense were on display. The Knicks already have him penciled in as their backup PG.
"I didn't shoot the ball, well but I don't worry about that, because I'm capable of scoring," Douglas said.
At least Hill posted better numbers than the bust-in-the-making Thabeet (six points, six boards, one block), whose Mohawk is snazzier than his performances have been in his first two games

NATE ROBINSON MAY PLAY IN GREECE FOR $5M
LAS VEGAS -- Eric Goodwin, agent for Nate Robinson, said the Knicks' 5-foot-7½ guard is considering an offer to play for the Greek team Olympiacos.
Robinson's preference, however, is to stay in New York and the NBA, but he hasn't come close to signing an offer sheet anywhere.
The Greek team may be willing to pay Robinson $5 million a year. Oddly, Knick president Donnie Walsh said yesterday he spoke to Robinson's agents, and that they never mentioned the Greek offer, which is telling.
"We will consider any team interested in Nate's services," Goodwin told The Post. "We have heard from the Greek team. They are very interested."
The Knicks had been hoping that Robinson, a restricted free agent, would re-sign for the one-year qualifying offer of $2.8M, but they can offer him a one-year deal at any amount.
The Knicks prefer not to sign Robinson to a long-term deal to protect their 2010 cap.
Coach Mike D'Antoni said earlier this week the Knicks are interested in Andre Miller only for the one-year, $5.8M midlevel exception, but that the Sixers PG is not yet interested in such a deal.

Knicks continue to monitor the Carlos Boozer situation in Utah after the Jazz decided to trade the All-Star power forward who has one year left on his pact.
Boozer admitted in a radio interview yesterday he's done with the Jazz and hopes to be traded soon, with the Bulls the leading candidate.
Boozer also said he'd be into drawing another free agent to come to his new workplace in 2010, mentioning buddy Dwayne Wade.
The Knicks appear longshots, with only expiring contracts to offer.
"I had a conversation with the Jazz, and the Jazz told me they wanted to go in a different direction, and I respect their decision," Boozer said. "And we mutually agreed to work out a deal that will be beneficial for me and my family." |

Le duo Walsh-D'antoni est là depuis un an, et il faut pus d'un an pour rétablir 10 ans de conneries de Layden et Isiah. Menfin déja, on sera sous la salary cap à la fin de la saison(truc impensable y'a tout juste un an!), et l'équipe ressemble à quelque chose, avec beaucoup de jeunes intéressants! On fera surement pas les PO cette saison, on fera p'tètre pas signer Lebron l'été prochain, mais toutes les décisions prises depuis un an sont bonnes!
Grant Hill pourrait signer, ce serait bien de l'avoir comme mentor pour Chandler et Gallinari

Ouaip, d'ailleurs y'a même pas vraiment de joueur dont on peut dire qu'il est assuré d'être dans le 5. (à part Duhon, mais par défaut si on ne parvient pas à recruter un meneur d'envergure, et Lee s'il prolongeait, mais ce serait bien etonnant...)
Sachant qu'on a refilé notre tour de draft 2010 pour récupérer Marbury () à l'époque, on va éviter de jouer le fist pick... |

Grant Hill isn't the only Lon Babby client the Knicks hope will be on their club come October. In fact, the Knicks may have found their "Almond in the Rough."

In another sign of Nate Robinson's looming exit, the Knicks signed Morris Almond, Utah's 2007 first-round pick out of Rice, to their summer-league team. According to a team source, the Knicks fully expect to sign the free agent sharpshooter for next season as long as he performs decently in Las Vegas. The summer league begins July 14.
Hill, 36, will visit the Knicks on Monday as the club looks to add a character player with leadership skills. The Knicks had no captain last season.
That both Babby clients are heavy Knicks targets is no coincidence. The Knicks would prefer to use their lower exception ($2M), but probably will have to use a portion of their $5.7M mid-level exception to get Hill for one year.
Walsh declined to comment on Hill, but said Almond is being heavily considered to be signed for next season. Walsh revealed he tried to trade for the 6-foot-6 Almond last season when Almond played just 25 games and spent time in the D-League.
"We're looking for shooting," Walsh told The Post. "We acquired some of it in the draft (Jordan Hill, Toney Douglas), but he's someone you have to look at."
Robinson is receiving interest from the Lakers, Magic and Sacramento, and his return to the Knicks is unlikely as the Knicks look for a cheaper bench option in Almond.

Dallas' expected signing of center Marcin Gortat could further Dallas' bid to ink Jason Kidd, whom a source says is taking the July 4 weekend off to mull over the Mavs and Knicks. As The Post reported, under CBA law the Knicks could -- and will -- offer Kidd a three-year, $18.2 million deal that Mark Cuban could blow out of the water.
With Memphis and Detroit out of the picture after Wednesday moves, under-the-cap Toronto emerges as a frontrunner in the David Lee Sweepstakes, possibly in a sign-and-trade. Nevertheless, the Knicks do not believe Raptors GM Bryant Colangelo will give up Chris Bosh. Toronto still feels it can re-sign Bosh. The Knicks believe the Lee saga will drag out for a while, as agent Mark Bartlestein looks to widen the field. Walsh said, "Our focus is still trying to sign him."
Nevertheless, if Bartlestein finds a taker willing to go more than $9 million per, the Knicks will be amenable to a sign-and-trade to try to get something out of it, even a draft pick. |

A team source told the New York Daily News that the Knicks will offer David Lee a four-year deal worth $32 million.
Lee, a restricted free agent, is believed to be seeking $10 million per year.
The Knicks want to retain Lee, but are also trying to preserve financial flexibility for the summer of 2010.
"There's no question he'd love to stay in New York," agent Mark Bartelstein said Tuesday. "But you are only a free agent so many times in our career, especially in the prime of your career."

The Knicks plan to meet with free-agent point guard Jason Kidd on Wednesday.
Kidd is scheduled to meet with New York president Donnie Walsh and coach Mike D'Antoni early Wednesday, according to a league source.
He is expected to talk with the Mavericks before meeting with the Knicks in order to give them the first chance to re-sign him.
The Knicks could offer Kidd their mid-level exception, or work a sign-and-trade with Dallas.

The Knicks are optimistic about the addition of Darko Milicic, but are realistic at the same time.
"There's three or four coaching staffs that really haven't gotten anything [out of Milicic], so we're not saying, 'Oh we can," Mike D'Antoni said. "Just sometimes in a person's career it's the right time. He's having a kid, he's married, maybe he's settled down. He's in the last year of a contract. We'll get the best out of him that he has. Is it good enough? We don't know.
"It's a shot in the dark."
"It's low risk, high reward," his New York-based agent, Marc Cornstein, told The Post on Sunday. "There is a reason he was drafted where he was drafted. Now it's a matter of will we see it? It remains to be seen, but I'm optimistic off this situation."
Milicic, who hasn't adapted well to U.S. living, now is surrounded by a larger support system, featuring Cornstein and a European-style head coach. But one NBA executive whose franchise had Milicic said: "He's been in the league six seasons. He is what he is."
Cornstein disagrees.
"We're thrilled on so many levels," he said. "I'm excited to have him in my hometown, personally and selfishly. We've known him for a long time and are very close to him. On a basketball level, we're more thrilled. Coach D'Antoni is the ideal coach for him. He has a great understanding of European players and how to utilize his skill sets and talents."

Mais je ne pense pas que cela va rester en l'état, à mon sens, tout le monde peut être envoyé ailleurs si ce n'est Gallinari et Jordan Hill ...

Rumeur du jour : Nate Robinson veut jouer à Portland
Cet été, Nate Robinson et David Lee, les deux meilleurs Knicks, sont free agents mais les dirigeants n’auront pas les moyens de conserver les deux.
Il leur faudra donc faire un choix.
Mais finalement, ils n’auront peut-être pas besoin de se creuser la tête puisque Nate Robinson aurait décidé de partir, alors qu’il est pourtant l’un des chouchous du Madison Square Garden.
C’est ce qu’annonce une source proche du joueur.
“Nate a le sentiment qu’il ne sera pas conservé à New York. Il veut jouer à Portland. Il veut revenir près de chez lui”.
Le souci, c’est que Portland cherche un meneur vétéran et non une puce atomique comme Robinson.
Clairement, le vainqueur du Slam Dunk Contest n’entre pas dans les plans des Blazers qui rêvent de trouver leur Chauncey Billups ou leur Jason Kidd.
De plus, les Blazers , plombés par le contrat de Darius Miles, n’ont pas des millions à dépenser et ils préféreront les miser sur Brandon Roy et LaMarcus Aldridge.
Toutefois, cette piste n’est pas à enterrer. Tout simplement parce que Nate Robinson et Brandon Roy sont des amis d’enfance, et que Roy est parfaitement capable de convaincre ses dirigeants d’engager son pote.
